Support: Cameras and Camera Kits

Before you send a query to our Helpdesk regarding a device malfunction, please read the points below first to see if a solution already exists. Please do this, as over 50% of inquiries have a solution described below. Thank you.

1) Do iGET HOMEGUARD IP cameras support RTSP?

The HGWIP710, HGWIP720, HGWOB751, HGWOB851, and HGWOB753 models support RTSP.

2) The camera set is not recording to the HDD connected to the USB port on the back of the main unit
The camera set records only to the built-in HDD inside the main unit; the USB ports are used only to connect USB peripherals such as a mouse or keyboard, or to connect an external HDD for exporting a backup of recordings already stored on the internal HDD.

3) Can I record to an external drive?
No, you can only create a backup from the internal drive to an external drive; battery-powered models are an exception, as they can also record to a USB drive.

4) If not, where and for how much can I get a SATA drive that isn’t included in the package?
- Anywhere in an online store; for example, this one: https://www.tsbohemia.cz/seagate-barracuda-3-5-1tb_d251995.html
- We recommend a drive designed for video recording, 24-hour: https://www.tsbohemia.cz/seagate-video-3-5-hdd-1tb_d169415.html

5) Does an internal SATA drive have to be installed by a professional?
Anyone can do it; just unscrew the 4 screws, remove the cover, snap the drive into the SATA connector, secure it with screws, and then slide the cover back on.

6) How long is the cable from the camera to the DV recorder?
18m; if a longer cable is needed, you can purchase an additional 30m cable for the connection, making it 48m total.

7) How many hours of recording can fit on a 1 TB drive?
When recording from all 4 HD cameras on the HGDVK46704 and using a 1TB drive, it is 7 days.

8) How many hours of recording can be stored in the 32GB internal memory of the iGET SECURITY M3P18 IP camera?
4 x 24 hours, i.e., 4 days of recording before the oldest recordings are overwritten.

9) How do I set up video recording to an SD card upon motion detection?
Pair the camera with your mobile phone according to the manual and continue. In the camera list, click the green arrow next to the camera in question. Now uncheck the option "App received alarm info" and click "Advanced Settings."  Camera Settings -> Alarm Settings -> Check "Motion Detection Active," set sensitivity to Medium or High, and below that, check "Save video to SD card" to complete the setup.

10) How do I reset the IP camera to its default (factory) settings?
Leave the camera plugged in, press and hold the Reset button for 20 seconds, then release it. Now wait about 1 minute for the camera to boot up.

11) How does automatic recording deletion/overwriting of old videos work for a camera system and for an IP camera?
A camera system records in an endless loop, overwriting the oldest recording first. IP cameras record short videos (approx. 2 minutes) that begin overwriting the oldest ones once the memory is full.

12) How do I connect to the iGET HOMEGUARD IP camera using RTSP?
You must enter this path: rtsp://admin:123456@192.168.6.37/live/ch0 or this address:
rtsp://admin:123456@192.168.6.37/live/ch1- "admin" is the username,
"123456" is the password,
and "192.168.6.37" is the camera’s IP address.

13) Can the iGET Homeguard HGPRO728/HGPRO729/HGPLM828/HGPLM829 camera be connected directly to a TV, or is a DVR recorder required?
A DVR recorder is required because, even though the camera has a BNC connector, it transmits an analog CCTV HD 720p signal. A standard S-Video/SCART input cannot handle this signal. The recorder connects to the TV via HDMI/VGA/CINCH.

14) I need a longer cable for the iGET HOMEGUARD CCTV cameras or CCTV camera sets. Unfortunately, the existing 18 m cable is not long enough.
To extend the existing 18-meter cable, you can connect this additional 18-meter cable using a BNC connector (see link).

15) How do I set up email photo transmission for an IP camera/CCTV system? SMTP email settings?
An example of email settings is shown in the images below; this information is primarily provided by your email service provider.

16) How do I connect cameras to a DVR recorder using Cat5e and Cat6 LAN cables?
1) Complete adapter set (set for one camera, one channel) https://www.patro.cz/kabel-video-power-extender-pro-cctv-pres-utp-kabel-...
2) Combination of adapters - cheaper, more versatile (one of each for connecting one camera, one channel)
     a) Adapter for the video recorder: https://e-shop.vmcomp.cz/cs/konektory/604-redukce-konektor-bnc-male-dvou...
     b) Adapter for the camera (video): https://e-shop.vmcomp.cz/cs/konektory/915-redukce-konektor-bnc-female-dv...
c) Power connector for the camera https://e-shop.vmcomp.cz/cs/konektory/2042-dc-napajeci-konektor-samec-vi...
d) Powering the cameras from the power adapter can be achieved by connecting them via a terminal block ("chocolate")

17) The Homeguardview, Homeguardcare, and Homeguardlink programs cannot be run on Windows 10. A message such as: "This application cannot run on your computer."

You must run the program as an administrator and in Windows XP mode.

18) How do I set up recording from a DVR to an FTP server?

You can use the general instructions below:

19) How do I set up recording from an IP camera to an FTP server?

An example of FTP server settings is shown in the image below; this information varies depending on your FTP server.
In the "FTP server" field, you can also enter, for example, "ftp://ftp4.webzdarma.cz"

20) "Plug-in not detected" error when accessing the DVR via a web browser or homeguardcloud.com
You must use Internet Explorer or Edge, and you can follow the general instructions below:

21) How do I set up video recording or photo storage on the internal card for the iGET HOMEGUARD IP camera?
In the app, go to the camera settings, then "Advanced Settings" -> "Alarm Settings" -> check "Motion Detection Active," and select the sensitivity level (Low, Medium, High). Then, below, select what the camera should do when motion is detected. It is not possible to save both a photo and a video at the same time. Therefore, most often select one of the following: "Save photo to SD card" or "Save video to SD card." Confirm by tapping Done/OK.

22) How much footage is stored before it is overwritten on the IP camera’s internal card?

22) What is the power consumption of the DVR recorder and cameras?
For example, the iGET HOMEGUARD HGDVK87704 has the following power consumption: DVR up to 10 Watts, each camera without night vision 1.1 Watts, with night vision 5.5 Watts; the maximum power consumption of the DVR + 4 Full HD cameras set is therefore 32 Watts.

23) I cannot connect the camera to the router.
Verify that the following is set:
- WPA-PSK AES or WPA2-PSK AES security,
- Fixed WiFi channels 1-11,
- a WiFi name without special characters or spaces, ideally without diacritics such as ř, í, É.
Alternatively, test the camera on a different router to verify whether the issue is with the WiFi router settings or a faulty WiFi component in the camera.

24) The camera cannot connect to the WiFi network; the WiFi network name does not even appear in the app
If you do not see the network name in the app while setting up the Wi-Fi network for the IP camera and cannot enter it, please enable GPS Location on your phone and then restart the app.

25) Can a wireless mouse be used with camera sets?
Not all wireless mice may work properly; for initial setup and especially for entering passwords, use a wired mouse. Some wireless mice generate different characters in the settings; you must verify this for each mouse, e.g., in the camera label settings, to ensure it generates the correct characters. Otherwise, the main unit may become locked out, etc.

26) How do I connect the WiFi cameras in the HGNVK49004 and HGNVK88304 camera sets using an Ethernet cable and the RJ45 ports on the cameras?
You must first remove the camera from the camera list in the NVR. Then connect the camera using an Ethernet cable and the LAN ports to your home router, to which the NVR recorder is also connected. Next, start the camera search in the camera list within the NVR settings. Pair the camera in this way, and it will be connected via LAN.

27) Is it possible to connect HGNVK936CAM 4K cameras to the HGNVK85304 Full HD set?
Yes, it is possible to connect up to 4 HGNVK936CAM 4K cameras and 4 HGNVK930CAM Full HD cameras at the same time.
Recording will take place in full resolution, i.e., 4K for the HGNVK936CAM cameras and Full HD for the HGNVK930CAM cameras. This means recording will be in Main-stream.
However, when viewing online video on the screen, this full resolution will only be visible when viewing a single channel at a given moment. When viewing, for example, 4 or 8 channels, Sub-stream will be used, i.e., a lower resolution, but recording will continue in full Main-stream.

28) The Cloud www.homeguardsafe.com is not working or I cannot log in

Please use the new version of the Cloud available at: https://www.homeguardcloud.com/

29) How can I export AVI or MP4 files from the recorder?

Using the Homeguardsafe program, you can export files directly to your computer. By default, .rt files are downloaded. You can change this setting here: Homeguardsafe program - Icon panel - System config - File Config - File types - select AVI here and confirm by clicking "Save".
